Soldiers of the Polish Army and AGAT unit on a visit to the Silesian University of Technology
At the end of February at the Silesian University of Technology another meeting of scientists of the Silesian University of Technology with representatives of the Polish Army was held in connection with the cooperation between these institutions.
On February 27th, the Faculty of Chemistry had the pleasure to host a group of soldiers of the Polish Army under the leadership of the Agat Military Unit.
- Our guests participated in training courses on laboratory chemical synthesis techniques and instrumental methods, conducted pro bono by specialists from the High-Energy and Electroactive Materials Team of the Department of Physical Chemistry and Technology of Polymers- informed Dr Hab. Eng. Tomasz Jarosz, Prof. SUT.
This was not the first such specialized training conducted by the staff of the Silesian University of Technology. For many years, the High Energy and Electroactive Materials Team has been conducting research and training activities in the field of: Development of new high-energy materials with reduced impact on human health and the environment; technology of classic high-energy materials; prevention of explosion hazard.
The flagship training project of the team is carried out in a new form since 2023 postgraduate studies " Explosives Technology ", whose graduates are outstanding representatives of the judiciary, uniformed services and industry. At the same time, the Team also conducts a number of other trainings and specialist courses in the above-mentioned scope, as well as performs expert opinions for the benefit of procedural authorities.
