Silesian University of Technology Researchers Among the World's Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists
A total of 72 researchers affiliated with the Silesian University of Technology have been included in the latest edition of the World's Top 2% Scientists ranking, compiled annually by researchers at Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier.
The career-long impact ranking features 57 researchers affiliated with the SUT, while 47 were recognised in the ranking based on citations received in 2025. With 32 researchers appearing in both categories, the two lists include a total of 72 individuals.
The ranking is based on bibliometric indicators, including the h-index, citation counts, and authorship roles and positions in scientific publications. Researchers are classified into 20 scientific fields and 174 subfields.
This is the eighth edition of the ranking, which was first published in 2019 in the journal PLOS Biology. It draws on a publicly available, standardised database of the publication records of researchers from around the world.
