Silesian University of Technology in the final of WOŚP (Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity)
As every year, the Silesian University of Technology supports the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. This year, during the finals on the Gliwice market, you will be able to meet student science circles and bid a meeting over coffee and cake with the Rector of the University Prof. Marek Pawełczyk.
The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will play for the 33rd time. The Gliwice final will take place in the Market Square. As every year, the Silesian University of Technology will be present at the event. At the University’s stand, you will see a Mars rover constructed by students from the AI science circle – METH and SKN PolSl Racing motorcycle, as well as… “the cow of Prof. Stanisław Fryze.” It will be a unique opportunity to learn about the history of this outstanding scientist, who after the war came from Lviv to Gliwice, taking a cow with him.
In the afternoon, the artists of the Academic Dance Ensemble of the Silesian University of Technology Dąbrowiacy will perform on the stage. There will also be auctions. This year it will be possible to bid a meeting over coffee and cake with the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Marek Pawełczyk and the occasional autographed book of the Nobel Prize winner Prof. Brian Kobilka. The winner will also receive an invitation to the University’s spring jubilee concert.
For the fourth time, the staff of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will have its headquarters in the Volunteer Centre of the Silesian University of Technology, prepared in cooperation with students and teachers of the Academic Secondary Comprehensive School of the Silesian University of Technology. This year’s university staff will be supported by more than 80 volunteers.
