Silesian University of Technology awarded in the "Marka Śląskie" (Silesian Brand) competition
Professor Marek Pawełczyk, Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, was awarded in the Personality of the Year category, and the Student Activity Center in the Service category. Professor Aleksandra Kuzior, Dean of the Faculty of Organization and Management was awarded a distinction in the Science category.
The awards were presented during a jubilee gala on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Regional Chamber of Industry and Commerce, at the PreZero Arena in Gliwice. This is the 16th edition of the "Marka Śląskie" competition, which promotes initiatives, enterprises and personalities connected with the region and recognised for their achievements.
"I would like to thank the award chapter, as this is a tremendous success of all the people I have met along the way – outstanding colleagues, thanks to whom one can be noticed. Without them nothing would have been possible; we work together,” emphasised Professor Marek Pawełczyk while receiving the award in the Personality of the Year category. The Rector also congratulated the Regional Chamber of Industry and Commerce on its activities, which unite the academic, social, and economic communities in the Silesian Voivodeship.
The award in the Service category was also presented to the Student Activity Centre of the Silesian University of Technology, which supports student initiatives and helps them develop future-oriented competencies. Meanwhile, Professor Aleksandra Kuzior, Dean of the Faculty of Organization and Management, was awarded a distinction in the Science category.
The Chamber also appointed new Councillors. Prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk, PhD, Eng., Rector of the Silesian University of Technology in 2016–2024, member of the supervisory board of JSW S.A. and the Academy of Engineering in Poland, joined this distinguished group.
All the awardees, as emphasised by the authorities of the Regional Chamber of Industry and Commerce, are ambassadors of the Silesian Voivodeship, whose achievements demonstrate how the region is changing and promote it in the best possible way.
