Silesian University of Technology and Fasing Capital Group have established cooperation
Silesian University of Technology signed an agreement on cooperation with Factories of Mining Equipment and Tools Fasing S.A. Capital Group in the research, education and human resources area.
Fasing S.A. Capital Group is the largest in Central Europe and one of the largest companies in the world manufacturing chains for mining, fisheries, energy, sugar, cement and wood industries. It operates in all major segments of the global market. More than 4000 users use its products.
On the 15th of January, the cooperation agreement was signed by the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Marek Pawełczyk and President of the Management Board Mateusz Bik.
The agreement between the Silesian University of Technology and Fasing S.A. Capital Group concerns mutual cooperation in the research, education, and human resources areas. Under the agreement, it will be possible, among others, to undertake joint research ventures, perform expert opinions, analyses and opinions in the field of technology, organization and management, as well as to educate employees, headed by the University’s partner, at higher education and doctoral, post-graduate and further education courses.
-We have signed an agreement with a very big and serious partner. The Silesian University of Technology has been implementing this cooperation for some time, but now it will be significantly intensified. The agreement was concluded in the company of a delegation from the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Industry Digitization, while together with the Presidents we agreed that our University can also offer a lot of other specializations - says Rector Marek Pawełczyk. - I am convinced that this is a great opportunity for students of at least several fields of study, who will be able to use the infrastructure of the Capital Group, visit their companies, but also acquire a whole range of interesting projects. We also received a declaration from our guests that they are very much counting on the support of our scientists in solving permanent problems in the mining area. Due to the new investments of the company, also in the field of defence, there is also a chance to develop other research areas.
President of the Management Board of Fasing S.A. Capital Group Mateusz Bik, who was accompanied in the event by Vice-President of the Management Board Stanisław Prusek, has no doubt that the cooperation will bring many benefits to both parties.
- Fasing is a group of twelve companies. The company has been operating continuously for over 110 years. With our products we are currently present in 50 countries. This makes us start to compete in these countries as a European company, also with Asian companies. We decided to cooperate with the Silesian University of Technology, because it will enable us to increase the competitiveness of our products and take advantage of the huge resources of knowledge that are at this University – whether from the side of production optimization or product development, to make it even more attractive for our client - says the President of the Management Board Mateusz Bik.
As part of the cooperation, the Fasing S.A. Capital Group will organize student internships, as well as student work placements not related to the diploma thesis, will enable obtaining topics for the diploma theses of students, as well as conduct recruitment of engineering staff from among the University’s graduates, according to their needs.
The event was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Digitization of Industry Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Krzysztof Nowacki and head of the Department of Production Engineering Dr Hab. Eng. Agnieszka Fornalczyk, Prof. SUT.
