Silesian University of Technology among the world’s leading institutions in the latest edition of the ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2025
The SUT has once again been listed among the highest-ranked institutions in this year’s edition of the ShanghaiRanking by subject, the ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2025. The University has been included in six subjects, achieving some of the strongest results among Polish institutions.
The University achieved its highest position in Metallurgical Engineering, placed in the 201–300 band.
In five further subjects, the SUT ranked within the 301–400 group of the world’s top universities:
- Artificial Intelligence – as one of only two universities in Poland included in this subject,
- Telecommunication Engineering – as one of two universities in Poland,
- Earth Sciences – as one of three institutions in Poland and the only technical university,
- Civil Engineering – as one of three Polish technical universities,
- Instruments Science & Technology.
These results confirm the strong scientific position of the SUT and its growing international recognition in key research areas.
The prestigious GRAS 2025 ranking is compiled and published by the independent organisation ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, which is also responsible for the well-known Shanghai Ranking. The ranking evaluates universities in 57 subjects across the natural, engineering, medical and social sciences. In this year’s edition, the Silesian University of Technology was among 33 Polish institutions included in the ranking.
