Silesian University of Technology Advances in THE Impact Rankings 2025

The Silesian University of Technology has achieved a notable advancement in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025, a globally recognised assessment that evaluates universities according to their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In the most recent edition of the rankings, the University was classified within the 601–800 band in the overall global assessment, representing a significant improvement from its previous placement in the 801–1000 range.
The institution’s highest score was recorded under SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, where it progressed from the 301–400 band to the 201–300 category. This area holds particular strategic relevance for the University, as it aligns closely with the core mission of the European University Alliance EURECA-PRO, in which the Silesian University of Technology is a founding member. The institution was commended for its efforts in promoting environmental sustainability, reducing resource consumption, and fostering responsible practices within its academic and operational environment.
The Silesian University of Technology was rankied in eight SDGs, achieving particularly strong results in six areas:
• SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy – ranked 401–600,
• SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – ranked 301–400 (an improvement from 401–600),
• SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure – ranked 301–400,
• SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – ranked 201–300 (an improvement from 301–400),
• SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – ranked 401–600.
The top position in the 2025 overall THE Impact ranking 2025 was awarded to Western Sydney University (Australia).
