Sign up for the BUP Student Conference (Baltic University Programme) 2025
The biggest annual student event BUP is back. The BUP 2025 Student Conference will be held this year under the title “Water and the Baltic City: Building resilience to climate change.”
The BUP Student Conference will be held from 23 to 26 April in Tallinn, Estonia. The event is free of charge and open to undergraduate and graduate students studying at universities participating in BUP. At least 80 students will be selected to participate in the conference.
The event is co-organized by the Coordinating Secretariat of the Baltic University Program at Uppsala University and the University of Tallinn.
The theme of this year’s conference will be the role of urban water systems in adapting to the challenges of climate change. During lectures, workshops and field trips to historic Tallinn, participants will learn how water affects various fields of science, such as urban planning, public health, ecology, and social policy.
Students admitted to the conference will automatically become members of the BUP Student Parliament, which will allow them to gain new, valuable experience working in an international team. It will be an opportunity for participants to express their opinion by submitting proposals, which, if accepted, will be forwarded to the International Board of BUP.
The educational objectives of the conference are to develop students’ competences in the field of interdisciplinary and intercultural communication, to introduce and develop students’ skills in various academic activities: workshops, discussions, moderating and presenting, and to reflect on the role of water in building resilience to climate change in urban environments, with particular emphasis on cities in the Baltic Sea region.
Applications for participation in the conference are accepted until March 2.
More information about the event, including the preliminary program, can be found on the BUP website: The BUP website.
