We invite you to participate in the scientific seminar within the framework of POB 3, which will take place on the 22nd of May at 9:00 in room 450 at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology.
During the seminar, a lecture entitled: “Towards sustainable nanoporous systems for energy storage and water treatment: Insights from in-situ X-ray and neutron scattering” will be delivered by a distinguished scientist, Prof. Oskar Paris from Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria).
Prof. Oskar Paris is a material physicist who obtained a PhD in solid-state physics from the University of Vienna in Austria in 1996. After postdoctoral internships at the Federal University of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland and at the Montanuniversität Leoben in Austria, he was the head of the team at the Department of Biomaterials at the Max Planck Institute for Coloids and Interfaces in Potsdam, Germany. Since 2009 he has been a full professor and head of the Institute of Physics at the Montanuniversität Leoben.
After the lecture, then there will be a scientific seminar, during which we will listen to a lecture by Dr Eng. Dawid Gajda, University of Texas at Austin (USA) entitled: “Fracture mechanics of reservoir rocks and wellbore cement in H2 environments”.
During the seminar, it will also be possible to present your own research topic and consult experts. Interested parties are invited to contact us: Alicja.Kazek-Kesik@polsl.pl
