Scientists of the Silesian University of Technology at the PRECOP and Energy Days conferences

With the participation of scientists from the Silesian University of Technology, Katowice hosted the largest climate conference in this part of Europe – PRECOP and Energy Days, which brings together experts from the energy sector and its transformation.

On the first day, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology took part in the PRECOP conference. Prof. Marek Pawełczyk was one of the speakers of the debate – “Science, Business, Human Resources for the Climate.” The participants discussed how to build bridges between the world of science and the market, so that green technologies are used in broad practice and how to educate staff for transformation in a relatively short time.

The first day of the Energy Days conference was attended by Dr Eng. Tomasz Bury from the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology. The scientist was a speaker during the debate - “Staff for the new energy sector.” The participants discussed staff needs and skills deficits in the rapidly changing energy sector, as well as education and the role of universities and employers in the energy sector. On the second day of the Energy Days conference, the debate - “Mały Atom,” was attended by Dr Hab. Eng. Łukasz Bartela from the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology. The participants discussed, among others, modular reactors in the Polish energy sector.

W pierwszym dniu konferencji Energy Days udział wziął dr inż. Tomasz Bury z Wydziału Inżynierii Środowiska i Energetyki Politechniki Śląskiej. Naukowiec był prelegentem podczas debaty - Kadry dla nowej energetyki. Uczestnicy dyskutowali o potrzebach kadrowych i deficytach kompetencji w szybko zmieniającej się energetyce a także o edukacji i roli uczelni oraz pracodawców sektora energii.
