Scientists of the Silesian University of Technology at the Innovation Night
Innovation Night, which will take place on October 18th, is an initiative within the Digital Festival – a nationwide event presenting the world of new technologies, digitization and artificial intelligence. Employees of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology have prepared a series of lectures and workshops that show modern technologies and their practical applications.
Digital Festival is the largest educational and technological initiative in Poland, which since 2019 has introduced modern technologies and their possibilities of application. This year’s edition focuses on the topic of cybersecurity, which is currently a key challenge in the era of digitization.
As part of the Innovation Night on the 18th of October, scientists of the Silesian University of Technology will conduct the following online classes:
- From the atom to the smartphone - find out how the development of technology has influenced the creation of modern mobile devices, at 17:00 a.m.
- The origins of artificial intelligence – from idea to reality – discover the history of artificial intelligence development, from initial concepts to its modern applications, at 18:00 a.m.
- Is it safe in the underground mine and how much does it cost? - learn about the challenges related to ensuring safety in underground mining and the costs of implementing modern solutions, at 17:00 a.m.
- Let’s play the carbon footprint approach – an interactive workshop that will allow participants to track the carbon footprint and learn how to reduce it, at 18:00 a.m.
- Optical fibres - how do they work? - understand how fibre optic technologies affect our daily lives and industry with an interactive workshop session at 18:00 a.m.
- Riddles of optoelectronics - an introduction to the fascinating world of optoelectronics - get to know modern technologies using light, 19:00 a.m.
