Scientists from Silesian University of Technology again among the prestigious 2% of the most influential researchers                   

Once again, 58 scientists from the Silesian University of Technology have been ranked among the most influential 2% of researchers in the world, according to the adopted citation indexes of their publications. This is the fourth edition of the study, based on an article published in the journal PLOS Biology by authors from Stanford University, Elsevier and SciTech Strategies, which presents a publicly available database that provides standardised information taking into account publication output.

The list includes the names of scientists ranked on the basis of adopted indicators for assessing scientific output, such as the Hirsch index, the number of citations, and the role and position in the list of authors. The list includes experts from 22 disciplines divided into 174 more specific sub-disciplines. Among them, 58 researchers from the Silesian University of Technology are included in the order given in the list.

The list is divided into two main tables. The first one (Table-1-Authors_Career) contains the scientific output of the whole career of the scientist. The second table (Table-1-Authors_singleyr_2022) concerns only the citations obtained in 2022.
