Science comes from good sources! The 20^th Researchers' Night of the Silesian University of Technology

Science comes from good sources and has its beginning at the Silesian University of Technology. Already on the 11^th of October in Gliwice, Zabrze, Katowice, and Rybnik we will celebrate the Researchers’ Night, which for 20 years has been uniting people looking for scientific experiences and reliable knowledge.

For 20 years, the Silesian University of Technology has been popularizing and promoting science in the form of an open event, which every year attracts lovers of knowledge and experiments. Researchers' Night of the Silesian University of Technology has been inscribed in the consciousness of the inhabitants of the region as a collection of inspiring lectures, exciting presentations and workshops, and laboratories available to all.

It will be no different during the jubilee, 20^th edition of the Researchers’ Night, which this year is held under the slogan “Science comes from good sources” and focuses on searching for reliable sources, reaching out to proven information and scientifically proven data. The event will take place on October 11^th from 17:00 to 23:00 at the 4 campuses of the University: Gliwice, Katowice, Zabrze, and Rybnik.

In the program, participants will find over 200 popular science activities from various fields. To participate in the event, participants will need to download a free entry ticket. To download a free pass, you must fill in the application form – available in the “Get a ticket” tab  located in the main menu of the website.

 As part of this year’s edition of the Researchers’ Night, an extraordinary evening of memories will take place and a meeting with the initiator of the event – prof Jerzy Rutkowski. It was on his and Dagmara Sokołowska’s initiative that this event was organized for the first time in 2005. Since then, every year at the beginning of October at the Silesian University of Technology, one can take part in unusual popular science activities carried out in university laboratories and laboratories. 

We will talk about the beginning of the Researchers’ Night, as well as its later fate, during the evening of memories, which will take place on the 11^th of October from 19:00 to 21:00 in the Silesian University of Technology Employee’s Club. The meeting with Prof. Jerzy Rutkowski will be led by Witold Ścieszka, coordinator of the Researchers' Night of the Silesian University of Technology.
