Science camp for talented pupils
How to prepare food for cosmonauts, how to program robots or use 3D printing in food production – you could find this out by participating in the ADAMED SmartUP science camp –an online event. Honorary patronage over the project was assumed by Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, professor Arkadiusz Mężyk.

The activities were planned in four thematic groups: chemistry and biochemistry, medicine and medical sciences, engineering and robotics, physics and new technologies. In addition to these, students took part in lectures and remote laboratories. They were able to learn about issues such as: methods of preparing food for cosmonauts, the use of 3D printing in food production or the use of ultrasound and electric fields in the industry.
The time was devoted mostly to workshops and practical exercises. The camp participants could, among others, learn to program robots in practice, attempt surgical sewing or conduct chemical experiments.
In September, 10 participants of the camp will be awarded with the main prize of the ADAMED SmartUP programme. These persons will take part in individual educational consultations for the next 10 months. After that time 3 of them will additionally receive a financial scholarship in the amount of 40 000 PLN each.
