Scholarships of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for students of the Silesian University of Technology
Fourteen students of the Silesian University of Technology received scholarships from the Minister of Science and Higher Education for significant scientific, sports or artistic achievements for the academic year 2024/2025. The diploma ceremony for the awarded students took place on the 28th of May 2025 in the Senate Hall of the Silesian University of Technology.
Students of the Silesian University of Technology have won the most scholarships among all technical universities in Poland.
- “These are very ambitious students who have joined scientific research and work closely with our outstanding professors, assistant professors and also publish in scientific journals, that is, they perform works that are the essence of scientific activity. Some of the awarded students want to connect their future with the Silesian University of Technology, joining the School of Doctors and later planning employment at the University” – said the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Marek Pawełczyk.
As emphasized Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education Prof. Anna Chrobok, the scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education is a very valuable and prestigious award.
- “Certainly, it will motivate the awarded students to continue their activities, conduct research or publications” - emphasized the Rector Chrobok.
One of the winners is Anna Mrowiec, a student at the Faculty of Materials Engineering.
- “For me this is a very important achievement. The award allows me to feel appreciated and shows that the work we do at the University makes sense” – she says.
- “The scholarship gives me additional motivation to continue to develop. I plan to start my PhD studies, I have even started the recruitment procedure” – adds Maciej Gosek, a student of nuclear energy at the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering.
The awarded students emphasize that the University actively supports their scientific development, which certainly had an impact on the award.
- “In addition to basic classes, we can take part in conferences, many great scientific projects, organized by student clubs or lecturers. The University’s employees encourage students to do this” – said Michał Pendziałek, a student in the field of nuclear energy.
