Scholarships of the Minister of Education and Science for students of the Silesian University of Technology

28 students of the Silesian University of Technology received scholarships of the Minister of Education and Science for their outstanding scientific, sports or artistic achievements in the academic year 2021/2022. The solemn diploma distribution for the awarded students took place on 2 June 2022 in the Senate Hall of the Silesian University of Technology. 

The diplomas were presented by the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk, and the Vice Rector for Students and Education, Professor Wojciech Szkliniarz. Our students received awards for outstanding scientific or sports achievements. 

- The fact that 28 students are awarded by the Minister of Education and Science is a great success - emphasised the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Education, Professor Wojciech Szkliniarz. - I think that this success results from supporting the education process, and organising PBL projects or projects conducted by student scientific associations. There is an enthusiasm for work, and a desire for scientific activity in the students and hence this result.

Among the awarded students is Julia Pluta, who graduated from the Institute of Physics at the Silesian University and is currently a student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. - I received the award for scientific publications, participation in international scientific conferences and for taking part in a pre-implementation project conducted at the Institute of Physics," said Julia Pluta.

- This award is a great satisfaction and a great surprise for me. I did not expect that by doing something in the lab or helping with the experiments, I could be so appreciated - said another awarded student, Agnieszka Sasiela, who also studied at the Institute of Physics at the Silesian University of Technology.

Piotr Eliasz from the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering is also among those who were awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science. - I received the award for scientific publications and participation in scientific research concerning computer simulations - said the student. - I am glad that during our studies we could do something interesting and our work was appreciated - added Maciej Bara, who also received the Minister's award.
