Schedule your semester with the Student Activity Centre
The new winter semester 2025/2026 is an excellent opportunity to spread your wings and discover what the Student Activity Centre (CAS) has prepared for students of the Silesian University of Technology. Inspiring events that await you, will allow you to gain new skills and spend time well after classes on Gliwice and Katowice campuses.
Among the activities organized by the Student Activity Centre, there will be workshops from the series “ENGINEER OF THE FUTURE” and meetings as part of the cycle “ENGINEER’S CINEMA.” “CREATIVE ENGLISH” workshops and inspiring meetings “Time after hours” are the new activities planned by the Centre. But it is not everything! In November, we invite you together with SKN SENSO and SKN MOTION to two meetings “FROM STUDENTS TO STUDENTS.”
The schedule of upcoming events is as follows:
🎓 Workshops in the series “ENGINEER OF THE FUTURE”:
The “ENGINEER OF THE FUTURE” workshop is a combination of theory and practice, which will allow participants to improve technical skills and gain valuable experience in the area of creative thinking, teamwork or problem solving. Thanks to these workshops, you will be able to gain not only knowledge, but also practical skills. Participants will receive certificates.
FUNDAMENTALS OF CAD DESIGN AND 3D PRINTING
Design, create and print your own idea! During the workshop “Fundamentals of CAD Design and 3D Printing” you will discover how to combine imagination with technology to create real, three-dimensional objects – from the first sketch to the finished model of a 3D printer.
Classes are conducted in the form of practical workshops during which:
- You will learn how to design elements in Autodesk Inventor Professional (with an educational license for students),
- You will prepare models for printing in Prusa Slicer,
- You will create your projects using Prusa 3D printers,
- You will learn the principles and good practices of 3D printing, including the use of AI in the design process.
You will learn how to design from scratch, but also how to use ready-made models available online and modify them according to your needs. This is a great opportunity to combine engineering thinking with creativity, and at the same time gain practical skills that are invaluable in the world of technology and design today.
Whether you want to create gadgets, robot elements or prototype your own inventions, this workshop is your first step into the world of 3D design.
👉 Schedule:
27.10.2025 Monday 15.00-18.00
The Student Creativity Centre at 3, Akademicka Street
03.11.2025 Monday 15.10-18.00
CAS/ Katowice, 8, Krasińskiego Street, room 2074
BUILD A ROBOT... FROM THE SCRATCH
Do you dream of creating your own robot that really drives, reacts, and follows your commands? Now you have that chance! During the workshop “Build a robot… from scratch” you will learn the secrets of robotics step by step – from mechanics to intelligent control.
In class:
- You will see how a big and small robot is built,
- You will learn to program its “brain” – Arduino UNO microcontroller.
- You will start motors and sensors,
- and finally, you will write your own vehicle control program!
It’s not just a science – it’s an emotional encounter with technology that will show you how much you can create with your own hands. You will learn how the robot works from the inside, and you will find that the world of engineering and automation is simpler than it seems – just curiosity and a little creativity! The workshop is a great introduction to further adventure with robotics, electronics, and microcontroller programming.
You don’t have to be an expert – you just want to build something special.
👉 Schedule:
24.11.2025 Monday 15.10-18.00

WORKSHOPS ON ARDUINO PROGRAMMING WITH AI ELEMENTS - FROM BASICS
Do you want to learn how to program devices that really do something? We invite you to practical workshops on Arduino programming with elements of artificial intelligence, during which you will build your own mini-electronic projects from scratch.
In the course, you will learn step by step how to:
- Program the Arduino UNO microcontroller.
- Control diodes, buzzers, motors, and servos,
- Connect sensors, thanks to which your device will gain its own “senses,”
- And you will see how to use AI in simple engineering projects.
You don't need any experience - we'll explain everything from scratch! Our goal is to show that Arduino programming is simple, accessible to everyone, and can be incredibly useful – both in science and in modern industry.
The workshop is the perfect start for anyone who wants to try their hand in the world of mechatronics.
👉 Schedule:
19.01.2025 Monday 15.10-18.00

🗣️ Workshops in the series “CREATIVE ENGLISH”
CREATIVE ENGLISH is an hour-long, energetic meeting with an English language that lives, entertains, and inspires. We don’t teach grammar – we teach speaking with courage, listening with curiosity, and thinking in English. You don’t have to be a language expert – just have an open mind and a desire to try something new.
Each meeting is a different topic, form, and emotion. Come and see that English can be an adventure, not an obligation. It’s English you don’t know – light, creative and 100% student “CREATIVE ENGLISH” is a creative English workshop – conversations and hands-on exercises. Afternoon coffee and tea meetings for students who want to speak English freely and have fun.

🎉 Meetings in the “Time After Hours” cycle
It is not science itself that the student lives by! After the whole day of class, it’s worth taking a breath – but also getting inspired! “Time after hours” is a unique series of afternoon meetings with people who work with passion, create and at the same time inspire. In an intimate, friendly atmosphere, you will talk to people who boldly implement their ideas. We invite you to integration meetings in a nice group, where you can ask questions, share your experience, get inspired and meet people who think and act outside the box.

🤝 MEETINGS “FROM STUDENTS TO STUDENTS”
Studies are not only lectures, exams, and credits – it is primarily learning how to plan, collaborate and discover your own path. That is why the idea of meetings “FROM STUDENTS TO STUDENTS” was created, during which students from older years share their experience with younger colleagues. Each meeting is an opportunity to ask about things that are not discussed in class – from practical tricks to inspiring success stories. Come if you want to better understand how to study wisely, grow and use your time at the university in 100%.
Because the best tips often come from students for students. Let yourself be inspired!
👉 Schedule:
12.11.2025, 19.11.2025, each meeting from 14:00-16:00
