Returning to full-time education at the Silesian University of Technology
From the 1st of March education at the Silesian University of Technology will be conducted in a contact form. Only, in certain cases, it will be conducted in a blended form or using distance learning methods and techniques.
Ordinance No. 26/2022 of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology on the organisation of education from the 21st of January 2022 is in force until the 28th of February 2022, and thus, from the 1st of March 2022, the principles of organisation of education set out in Ordinance No. 167/2021 of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology apply again.
This means that from the 1 st of March, education at the Silesian University of Technology is conducted, as a rule, in a contact form, and in certain cases indicated in this Ordinance - in a blended form or using distance learning methods and techniques. The rules of course delivery and verification of achieved learning outcomes with the use of distance learning methods and techniques are defined in the Ordinance No 200/2020 of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology.
Contact learning is invariably conducted in compliance with the Rector's guidelines, developed on the basis of the applicable sanitary regulations, taking into account decisions and recommendations issued by the State Sanitary Inspectorate or other state services and bodies implementing public health tasks, as well as taking into account recommendations issued by the Minister of Education and Science.
The Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, on the 18th of February 2022, also signed Ordinance No. 45/2022 amending the Ordinance on the principles of operation of the University in connection with the occurrence of an epidemic.
The changes concern, among other, the maximum number of persons who may participate in meetings. From the 1st of March, it is permitted to organise and participate in business and professional meetings or gatherings at the University, with a maximum number of participants of no more than 50 persons; the restriction does not apply to University bodies.
Also from the 1st of March 2022, among other, the stationary work of non-academic staff, the daily delivery and collection of internal mail, is restored.
”I would like to ask all members of the University community to return within the walls of the University observing all the rules and recommendations concerning the prevention of the SARS-CoV-2 virus spread” says the Rector of PŚ, prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk.
