In the last week of September, a group of 11 academic teachers from the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology participated in a teaching internship as part of the project FERS2STAFF. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen existing cooperation and prepare for the third edition of the international Global Capstone Design Workshops, which will be held at the Silesian University of Technology in May 2026.
The internship program included visits to the Tech University of Korea in Siheung, Kookmin University in Seoul, and Sun Moon University in Asan. Meetings with university authorities and professors featured presentations of each institution and discussions on expanding current cooperation in scientific and educational areas. The hosts showcased their extensive laboratory facilities, developed through close collaboration with major Korean corporations, including Hyundai Motor Group.
The highlight of the visit was the Global Mobility Technology Exchange Seminar organized at Sun Moon University. Korean students were introduced to the topics of PBL (Project-Based Learning) projects, which were developed and presented by academic teachers from the Silesian University of Technology. Establishing direct contacts enabled the actual launch of joint projects, the results of which will be presented during the Global Capstone Design workshop summary.
The visit of the Silesian University of Technology delegation attracted significant attention from local media. Professor Changha Choi from Sun Moon University summarized the event on the newdaily.co.kr portal: “This seminar was an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with leading European universities and further enhance educational and research capabilities in the field of future automobiles.”
