Results of the eliminations of the Silesian edition of the Three Minute Thesis® competition
The jury selected 10 young scientists who will perform in the finals of the 6th Silesian edition of the Three Minute Thesis® competition on November 17th.
17 doctoral students representing Silesian universities took part in this year's qualifying rounds of the Three Minute Thesis® competition. 10 of them will present in the final, taking place on November 17th at CKS "Mrowisko" in Gliwice:

Young scientists presented many topics during the qualifying round, including: in the field of medicine, nanotechnology, 3D printing, waste management, psychology, education, and linguistics. The research carried out by doctoral students is important for society and supports activities such as the treatment of obesity and cancer, the creation of devices supporting the lives of people with disabilities, therapies for people on the autism spectrum, and legal protection in the field of privacy on the Internet.
Three Minute Thesis® participants have only 3 minutes to talk about their PhD thesis. In this way, they can test not only their self-presentation skills, but also how to talk about science in a way that is accessible and understandable to a wide audience. The eliminations are therefore the first test, because the participants selected by the jury will perform in the final in front of the audience.
The final of the Silesian edition of Three Minute Thesis® will take place on Friday, November 17th, 2023, at 18:00 at CKS "Mrowisko" in Gliwice. We invite you to watch the event live in the "Mrowisko" theatre hall or online via streaming on YouTube. Viewers will be able to vote for the best performance and thus award the audience award.
Three Minute Thesis® is licensed by the University of Queensland, Australia. For 6 years, it has been organized by the Science Popularization Centre in cooperation with the University Self-Government Council of the Doctoral Students of the Silesian University of Technology.
