Popular science comic book, artistic work about the past and future of science and an interview with a scientist – these are the tasks faced by participants of the nationwide competitions of the Researchers' Night of the Silesian University of Technology 2026.

The participants of this year’s edition of the competitions as part of the Researchers' Night of the Silesian University of Technology proposed extraordinary ideas and showed deep layers of creativity. In the team competition, they prepared comics presenting scientific discoveries – this work required not only knowledge of the form of the comic, but also a substantive description of the presented issue. 

Preschool children and pupils of grades 1-4 of primary school presented what the work of scientists looked like 100 years ago and what it will look like in 100 years The effects of their imagination are really surprising! The participants of the "Face to face with..." interview competition could also learn a little more about the scientist's work, who conducted insightful conversations with researchers. The participants were also tasked with making an advertising spot for the Researchers’ Night – with such a promotion our event will certainly gain new science lovers. 

The judges did not have an easy task – among many fascinating works, they had to choose the best ones. Meet the winners and winners of this year’s competitions:

The competition works will be displayed in the Gallery 2^nd Floor in the Centre of New Technologies of the Silesian University of Technology. The gallery will be available from July 10^th to the end of October 2026. The awards will be presented during the 21st Inauguration Ceremony of the Researchers’ Night of the Silesian University of Technology on Saturday, 10^th October 2026! 

The competitions have been held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, the Board of Education in Katowice, the Mayor of the City of Gliwice, and The Council for the Promotion of the Public Understanding of Science PAS.
