Representatives of the Silesian University of Technology in the Awards Committee of XXX jubilee edition of “Laurels of Skills and Competences”
“Laurels of Skills and Competences” is an event organized by the Regional Chamber of Commerce since 1992, and its idea is to draw attention to industry leaders in order to seek inspiration. It is also an attempt to remind us of the universal values that we should follow both at work and in our personal life.
The distinctions are awarded each year by the Awards Committee consisting of representatives of government and self-government authorities of the Śląskie and Opolskie Voivodships, representatives of chambers of commerce, science institutions, media and laureates of previous editions. The previous laureates were, among others, such personalities as: John Paul II, Lech Wałęsa, Aleksander Kwaśniewski, Tadeusz Mazowiecki, Jan Nowak Jeziorański, Władysław Bartoszewski, Zbigniew Religa, Andrzej Wajda, Vaclav Havel, Krystyna Bochenek, Krzysztof Penderecki and many others.
This year, the first of three meetings of the jubilee Awards Committee of the XXX edition, took place on September 15th this year. Among the honourable group of its members were also representatives of the Silesian University of Technology, represented by the Chairman of the University Council, president of the Board of Górnośląskie Towarzystwo Lotnicze SA - Artur Tomasik, prof. Janusz Kotowicz - Vice-Rector for Cooperation with the Social and Economic Environment and prof. Marek Gzik, director of the European Centre of Innovative Technologies for Health.
