Representation of the Silesian University of Technology in the authorities of the Academic Administration Forum
The Academic Administration Forum elected the authorities for the term 2024-2028. Ms. Ewa Mendec, head of the National Projects Service Office at the Centre for Project Management of the Silesian University of Technology, became the vice-president of the association.
The Academic Administration Forum is an independent association operating since 2018, initially associating deanery employees and from this year also people working in other departments of university administration. The FAA (Academic Administration Forum) currently has more than 260 members.
Among the objectives of the association are: Integration of the community of deanery employees, other administrative units of the university and people involved in supporting processes carried out in universities; cooperation with public administration bodies, economic and social organizations and scientific institutions in the field of organizing, conducting and improving professional services; conducting counselling; shaping opinions and assessments of academic circles regarding the functioning of deaneries and other administrative units of the university.
At the initiative of the FAA, this year the term “non-academic staff” was changed to “academic administration staff” in the upcoming amendment to the Law on Higher Education and Science. The Association also participated in discussions and consultations regarding the recruitment of foreign students.
The function of the president of the association in the term of 2024-2028 will continue to be performed by Dr Hab. Katarzyna Górak-Sosnowska from the Warsaw School of Economics, where she heads the Department of Middle East and Central Asia.
Ms. Ewa Mendec, a representative of the Silesian University of Technology, who since 2010 has been the head of the National Projects Office, was elected the Vice-President. The FAA Board also includes: Dariusz Wronikowski (Member, Medical University of Lublin) and Wioletta Braun (Secretary, Gdańsk University of Technology), Katarzyna Kłopotowska (Treasurer, Warsaw School of Economics).
