Registration for the OptiQ Bell Game Competition

Registration for the OptiQ Bell Game Competition has started. It is organized as part of the OptiQ project, of which the Silesian University of Technology is the leader.

The OptiQ Bell Game Competition is dedicated to the development of the assumptions of a serious game. Its main goal is to generate a sequence of pseudo-random symbols based on the behaviour of the Player-Man in the game and in a transparent manner for that player. The proposal should take the form of a Game Project Document (GDD), proof of concept and pitch-deck presentation, which will be presented during the dispute settlement process. If the game meets the requirements of the project, it will be implemented in the OptiQ project (WP5).

Online registration for this event has just begun, which will last until September 21. The competition consists of two stages. The first runs until 6 October 2024 and the second on 14-18 October 2024. The final results will be announced on the last day of the second stage.

The competition is open to students studying in European Union countries and countries associated with Horizon Europe (e.g. Ukraine or the United Kingdom). It is acceptable for the participant to be supported by a formal or informal group of supporters (scientific circle, group of co-workers, etc.), but in case of winning participation in the Thematic School will be free of charge only for the participant. The whole group can participate in the other benefits.

All participants are guaranteed active participation in an interesting and international research project – OptiQ and free remote participation in at least three webinars, which will be organized during the first stage of the call for proposals. Webinars will be held in the form of streaming, remote lectures, or workshops. Participating in the streaming will allow you to ask questions to the host, including about the requirements of a designed serious game.

First, second, and third place winners will be able to attend a Thematic School dedicated to generating entangled photons and experiments related to Bell's inequality. In addition, the winner can select a companion from among the sympathizers. In the absence of such a person, the participant who won the fourth place will be invited. If the winning game design meets the requirements of the project, it will be implemented within the project, and the participant and all supporters will be listed in the relevant scientific publication as co-authors.
