Registration for the EUCYS competition in Katowice has started
From 9th to 14th September, two extraordinary events will take place in Katowice – finals of EUCYS and EU TalentOn competitions. The events take place as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024 celebrations.
Both events are addressed to young researchers who will come to our city from many countries from all over the world!
What is the difference between these two competitions?
- EUCYS is dedicated to young people aged 14-20 years. This year’s finale will take place in the building of the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice
- EU TalentOn – the largest brainstorming event, in turn, gathers audiences slightly older, between 21 and 35 years of age. The event will take place at the headquarters of SPINplace – the centre of creativity and coworking of the University of Silesia.
The official conclusion of the competitions will take place on September 13 at the Silesian Museum.
EUCYS and EU TalentOn are part of the initiatives implemented within the European City of Science Katowice 2024.
The organizers particularly encourage the participation of teachers and students in the EUCYS competition.
The European Union Contest for Young scientists is the most important European competition for young scientists organized by the European Commission since 1989. Each year, a different city hosts the final competition – this year Katowice is the host.
- From 10 to 12 September in the building of the Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, young scientists from all over the world will take us on a journey through all scientific disciplines. It will be a great opportunity for secondary school pupils to see their peers’ scientific projects and train their language skills! In Katowice we will host 147 participants from 38 European countries (and not only), who will present ninety-four scientific projects.
