Recruitment to the Aviation Modelling Centre in Gliwice
The Aviation Modelling Centre of Gliwice Aviation Modellers’ Association announces a recruitment for children of employees of the Silesian University of Technology for classes at the Centre. Participants will work with free-flying models, remote-controlled models, tethered models and drones.
- Observing the modern world, we can see that these are times of enormous progress in technology and engineering. Development that once took years is now a matter of months. There is no need to convince anyone that knowledge of modern technology and the ability to use it freely allows you to be "at the forefront". In short, today's world belongs to engineers - says Jacek Pogonowski from the GSML Aviation Modelling Centre.
Model making teaches accuracy, patience and creativity, shapes the character and ability to work in a team.
- Children and young people who have had contact with model making also assimilate knowledge of physics and mathematics much more easily and quickly. This is confirmed by instructors observing the progress of their students. Modelling is modern high-tech. From the environment of model-makers come engineers who design modern equipment. It is also a natural start for future pilots," emphasises Jacek Pogonowski.
In the course of classes, students make aerial models, learning how to use different tools, and make flights with models as part of training and competitions. They also get to know the theory related to the flight of aeroplanes and learn how to adjust their models. The Club has manual and electromechanical tools and machines, as well as modern machinery and equipment (e.g. 3D printer, CNC milling machine, CNC thermal plotter). The Club also has a model flight simulator.
- Modelling brings generations together, parents get along well with their children, grandparents with their grandchildren. We encourage children, teenagers and adults to participate in classes," says Jacek Pogonowski. If you are interested, contact: jack@model.bmj.pl, tel.: 608 585 289.
