The Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology is expanding its educational offer with another specialty: Air Traffic Management in the field of: Transport Students of this specialization, apart from the current education program, will simultaneously pursue theoretical and practical training in the certified Academic Aviation Training Centre at the Silesian University of Technology up to the level of the air traffic trainee controller license.

After obtaining the status of candidate for the trainee air traffic controller, i.e. after passing the verification to determine his aptitude for the profession, students of this specialization will begin training consisting of theoretical and practical part on the air traffic control simulator located at the Civil Aviation Personnel Training Centre of Central and Eastern Europe. Completion of this training and passing state examinations before the Civil Aviation Authority commission will be a prerequisite for obtaining the Air Traffic Controller (SATCL) trainee license with the qualifications for which the student has been trained. The training will be carried out under ADC (airport control) or APS (radar approach control) privileges.

All interested students who have completed the second semester of the first degree of study of any field at the Silesian University of Technology are asked to send the initial declaration of entry to study in this specialty to the following e-mail address : katarzyna.brzeska@polsl.pl until 7 October 2024.

On October 10th, 2024, a meeting is planned with people who submitted a preliminary declaration to study in this specialty, as well as the announcement of the selection criteria and the course of the qualification process. This process will be completed by October 31, 2024, with the announcement of the list of persons admitted to this specialty.
