Project meeting "Cognitive technologies - second cycle studies in English".

The Vice Rector for Infrastructure and Promotion, Associate Professor Tomasz Trawiński PhD, DSc met with Prof. Volodymyr Tkachenko, Vice Rector for Cooperation and Development of the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. The meeting was devoted to "cognitive technologies" studies conducted at the Silesian University of Technology. 

The project "Cognitive technologies - second cycle studies in English" is conducted within the KATAMARAN programme of the National Agency for Academic Exchange. The Silesian University of Technology is the leader of the project, and the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture is the partner.

The Silesian University of Technology hosted a meeting with the representative of the project team from the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture - Vice Rector for Cooperation and Development, Professor Volodymyr Tkachenko. The Silesian University of Technology was represented by the Vice Rector for Infrastructure and Promotion, Associate Professor Tomasz Trawiński PhD, DSc, and Associate Professor Aleksandra Kuzior PhD, DSc, the project manager. The event was also attended by Prof. Iryna Tkachenko from the Academy of the State Penitentiary Service in Chernihiv, Prof. Alexey Kwilinski from the London Academy of Science and Business, and Prof. Ihor Hroznyi from Zaporizhzhia National University.

The international scientific and didactic conference "Cognitive technologies" was also held on 08 June. During the event, the study programme was presented, and the issues discussed included the use of cognitive technology in the system of higher education and management, as well as social communication, its implementation at work, cognitive science and artificial intelligence in the industry, data analysis and related security, privacy and ethics. The opening ceremony was conducted by the Associate Professor Aleksandra Kuzior PhD, DSc and the speeches were delivered by Prof. Volodymyr Tkachenko, Vice Rector for Cooperation and Development of the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, and Prof. Jan Kazmierczak PhD, DSc, Eng., Dean of the Faculty of Organization and Management at the Silesian University of Technology. The conference was attended by speakers from Polish and foreign scientific institutions.

Cognitive technologies is a new field of the second cycle studies at the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology. It aims to educate highly qualified personnel, experts in the field of economics and society, involved in and supporting the dynamic development of the modern economy, especially the business services sector.

Modern working tools and methods, as well as cooperation with the socio-economic environment, are important in high-quality education. Students will choose prepared modules of classes: cognitive technologies in modern business services, cognitive technologies and Industry 4.0, cognitive technologies in Smart City services. Graduates of the programme will gain skills associated with the themes of the society and cognitive theories of social and economic development, development of innovative methods, techniques and research tools, including advanced IT techniques, for diagnosis and solution of unusual social and organisational problems, design and implementation of technical systems, use of knowledge for implementation of integrated management and production systems.
