Project "Geomatics for Disaster Risk Reduction"
From 13 to 18 March, meetings and workshops were held at West Attica University in Athens, Greece, as part of the educational project "Geomatics for Disaster Risk Reduction" (geoDRR; 2020-2023). Silesian University of Technology is the leader of the project.
6 universities from Malaysia, Philippines and Cambodia, University of Alicante (Spain) and Novel Group (Luxembourg) are participating. The aim of the project is to prepare and start a new specialisation of studies at the universities participating in the project.
The project is realised by the Department of Geoengineering and Raw Materials Extraction and the Department of Safety Engineering at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation. The coordinator of the project is presently Dr Krzysztof Tomiczek (DoGaRME). The Silesian University of Technology was also represented by Katarzyna Tobór-Osadnik, PhD, Professor at the Silesian University of Technology (DoSE), and Monika Żogała, PhD, (DoGaRME).
