Programmers from all over Poland met at the Silesian University of Technology
From 29th August to 1st September, the 16th edition of the PyCon PL conference was held at the Education and Congress Centre of the Silesian University of Technology. It is the largest stationary conference in Poland fully dedicated to Python and part of the worldwide PyCon conference series.
Silesian University of Technology hosted a conference devoted to the most popular programming language in the world - Python (according to the TIOBE ranking).
- The scope of issues discussed at the conference was very wide from data analysis and artificial intelligence to the creation of graphics and computer games, as well as issues related to education and teaching of Python – said Filip Kłębczyk, President of the PYPOLSKA Association.
The conference was attended by both professionals using Python in their professional work, but also amateurs and enthusiasts who wanted to expand their knowledge in the field of using this popular programming language. In total, about 230 programming enthusiasts met at the Silesian University of Technology.
It is worth recalling that since 2019 Python is also one of several languages to choose from at the secondary school leaving diploma examination in computer science due to the increasingly widespread use in education. Python is used in areas such as big data processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data visualization, task automation and web applications.
- I myself learned to use this language when I was a student at the Silesian University of Technology. At that time, it was a niche language, today it is the most popular programming language in the world and is desired by employers – adds Filip Kłębczyk.
The conference was held for the 16th time. Year after year, it is gaining more and more interest.
