Professor Marek Pawełczyk, elected chairman of the Scientific Policy Committee
Prof. Marek Pawełczyk, Vice Rector for Science and Development, was unanimously elected chairman of the Scientific Policy Committee. The election took place on 18 May.
The role and responsibilities of the Scientific Policy Committee are defined under the Article 340 of the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018. According to the provisions of the law, the Scientific Policy Committee (KPN) is a subsidiary body of the minister in the area of state scientific policy. The KPN evaluates the implementation of Poland's scientific policy and provides the opinion on documents presented by the minister. The results of the evaluation are submitted to the Council of Ministers through the minister.
Prof. Marek Pawełczyk previously held the position of the KPN vice-chairman.
