Professor Janusz Kotowicz as the President of the Board of Vice Rectors
Professor Janusz Kotowicz PhD, DSc has for the second time become the President of the Board of Vice Rectors for General Affairs, Development and Collaboration with Civic and Economic Environment of public higher technical institutions.
The Conference of the Board of Vice Rectors Science and Development of public higher technical institutions and the Board of Vice Rectors for General Affairs, Development and Collaboration with Civic and Economic Environment of public higher technical institutions took place from 22-24.06.2022 in the Maritime University of Szczecin.
The meeting was attended by 41 representatives of higher education institutions. The Silesian University of Technology was represented by the Vice Rector for Collaboration with Civic and Economic Environment, Prof. Janusz Kotowicz PhD, DSc and the Vice Rector for General Affairs, Prof. Bogusław Łazarz, PhD, DSc.
One of the main points of the event was the election of the new president and the presidium of the Board of Vice Rectors for General Affairs, Development and Collaboration with Civic and Economic Environment. Prof. Janusz Kotowicz was unanimously accepted as the president for the second time, while Prof. Michał Wieczorowski of Poznań University of Technology, Prof. Rafał Wiśniowski of AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków and Prof. Adam Woźniak of Warsaw University of Technology were appointed to the new presidium of the Board. Prof. Bogusław Łazarz of the Silesian University of Technology remained in the presidium for another term.
During the conference, the Deputy Governor of West Pomerania - Mateusz Wagemann - read out a letter from the Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, addressed to members of the colleges. The meeting was also attended by Anna Marciniak from the National Centre for Research and Development. Topics discussed during the meeting included the possibility of funding R&D projects from the National Centre for Research and Development. The evaluation of scientific entities was also discussed.
The participants of the conference had the opportunity to see the state-of-the-art research laboratories, designed for offshore research, installed on the m/s Navigator XXI research vessel.
