Prof. Stefan Czerwik has passed away
It is with deep regret that we announce that on the 27th of October.2025, at the age of 85, Dr Hab Stefan Czerwik, Professor SUT, a retired employee of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of the Silesian University of Technology passed away.
Prof. Stefan Czerwik was associated with the Silesian University of Technology from 1991 until his retirement in 2012. He worked at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the Institute of Mathematics, acting as the Head of the Department of Differential and Functional Equations throughout his career. He was the author of many publications and promoted 3 doctoral students. He was an internationally recognized specialist in functional equations. He will be fondly remembered by the staff of what is now the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics.
The funeral ceremony will take place on the 31st of October 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady Queen of the Holy Rosary in Łaziska Górne.
The rosary prayer will be held in the church chapel at 10:30 a.m.
