Prof. Dorota Burchart received the title of Professor of Engineering and Technical Sciences

Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Dorota Burchart received the title of Professor of Engineering and Technical Sciences in the field of Civil Engineering, Geodesy, and Transport. Prof. Burchart received the title at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, during the December ceremony of awarding professor nominations.

Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Dorota Burchart is a research worker at the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology. The Professor’s research activity is characterized by interdisciplinarity. She obtained a postdoctoral degree in the discipline of environmental engineering, thanks to which in her research she combines the issues of environmental protection, management of logistics and transport systems, production engineering and energy systems. Her research interests include carbon footprint management, sustainable development, green economy problems, life cycle management and the development of alternative fuels in transport, in particular electromobility and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

Prof. Dorota Burchart has been the head of many domestic and foreign research and development projects and commissioned works. She is the author or co-author of over 250 publications published in Poland and abroad. She teaches classes in the field of carbon footprint, environmental life cycle assessment in transport, sustainability reporting in organizations and many others. She has completed scientific and research internships and lectured at universities in foreign research centres and research institutes in Germany, Italy, and the Czech Republic. Since 2022,  Prof. Dorota Burchart has been listed annually on the World’s Top 2% list of the most influential scientists in the world.
