POP Science 2023 – nominations and voting

Dr Eng. Edyta Łaskawiec and Dr Barbara Solecka from the Silesian University of Technology nominated for the POP Science award of the Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE 2023. This distinction is awarded to people who popularize science.

Dr Eng. Edyta Łaskawiec is nominated in the "Website or blog" category. She is the creator of the @wastewater_based.doctor profile, which can be found on Instagram. It raises issues related to technology and quality of water and sewage, the climate crisis, and environmental protection.

Dr Barbara Solecka is nominated in the "Think globally, act locally - academic community" category. She carries out physics shows and experiments for all audiences: children, teenagers and adults. She popularizes science during lectures organized by the Polish Physical Society, and is a co-organizer of the "Young Einstein" competition and the conference "Should you be afraid of physics?"
