POLISH TEACHERS’ UNION (ZNP) at the Silesian University of Technology celebrates its 80 years of activity
Polish Teachers’ Union (ZNP) at the Silesian University of Technology has inaugurated a celebration of the 80th anniversary of its activity. The ceremony began an art competition.
- This is a unique and meaningful anniversary for the entire academic community – a moment of reflection on how the Union supported the development of social and living conditions of university employees for decades, creating the foundations for the creation of many of its organizational units, - says Ewa Krzech.
The first jubilee event was an exhibition of artistic works of children and grandchildren of employees of the Silesian University of Technology, prepared under the slogan “Artistic face of the Silesian University of Technology – 80th birthday of the ZNP in colours”. The competition was influenced by works made using various artistic techniques, showing the creativity of the youngest participants. This initiative has brought generations together, inviting the youngest to a creative interpretation of the history and spirit of the University.
The ceremony of awarding prizes and gifts to all participants of the competition took place on October 6, 2025, at The Student Activity Centre. This event started a series of jubilee meetings that will accompany the celebrations throughout the year, reminding about the rich tradition and social mission of the Polish Teachers’ Union (ZNP) at the Silesian University of Technology.
