Poland reaches out to the stars.
Dr Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski at the Silesian University of Technology

On November 6th, the Silesian University of Technology will host Dr Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, a Polish astronaut of the European Space Agency (ESA), participant of the “IGNIS” mission on the International Space Station.

The astronaut will meet with students of Silesian universities and pupils as part of the nationwide Post-Flight Tour, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and the Polish Space Agency in cooperation with the European Space Agency.

The meeting with Dr Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski will be divided into two parts. The first part- academic -- will begin at 9.00 at the Education and Congress Centre of the Silesian University of Technology (18B, Konarskiego Street in Gliwice. This part of the meeting will be attended by students, PhD students, and scientists from Silesian universities. Registration for the academic part of the event takes place at individual universities. The meeting will last until about 12.00.

During this part of the event, the astronaut will talk about his mission and conducted scientific research. There will also be a discussion panel and discussions with representatives of Student Science Clubs. Two experiments from the IGNIS mission, AstroMentalHealth and Yeast TardigradeGene, will also be presented.
