PLN 6 million under the Science Support Fund
The Metropolis GZM is extending the Science Support Fund, which is aimed at universities operating in its area. In addition to classes taught by some of the world's best scientists, support will be provided to, among others, doctoral students and student scientific associations.
Until now, under the Fund, public and non-public universities have been able to obtain funding to organise classes with world-class scientists. Such an opportunity will still remain as one of the five thematic areas. As a result, classes at universities in the GZM are taught by scientists from universities such as Stanford, Cambridge, Harvard and Oxford.
At the same time, the Metropolis is extending the scope of the Fund to include additional four areas: supporting doctoral students and academics; innovative teaching methods; science competitions and events; and encouraging study within the GZM.
‘The Fund is intended to support universities in increasing the attractiveness of their scientific and educational offer and in the long term - to encourage young people to study within the Metropolis and link their future with it,’ says Kazimierz Karolczak, Chairman of the Management Board of the GZM. ‘The expansion of the Fund to include other thematic areas is also the result of more than two years' experience since the programme was launched,’ he adds.
The Metropolis intends to allocate more than PLN 6 million to support universities until 2024. The call for applications will be conducted twice a year - until the end of September and until the end of February. The first call is currently ongoing.
