Picnic and unveiling of the Eco-mural on the campus of the Silesian University of Technology
On June 10th, 2026, at 17.30 pm, the ceremonial unveiling of the Eco-mural on the campus of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice will take place. Eco-mural is one of the elements of the “I am here, you are here” campaign, implemented as part of a wider project of the Silesian Voivodeship Self-Government, conducted in cooperation with the universities of the region.
The initiative aims to show young people the development opportunities offered by the dynamically transforming Silesian Voivodeship – as a place to study, work and build the future. The project was created with the use of ecological photocatalytic paints with air purifying properties. The mural project refers to the main visual motifs of the campaign and the subject of modern fields of study, technology and changes taking place in the region.
The author of the mural is Leonid Podolyak – an artist specializing in large-format mural projects, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lviv.
Just after the unveiling of the mural at the Igry Meadow of the Silesian University of Technology, a picnic will take place as part of the campaign “I am here, you are here.” During the event, we will talk together about the future of the region, the role of education and the opportunities offered by the Silesian Voivodeship to young people.
The participants will have an opportunity to listen to the concerts of the following artists: Frele, Gooral and Józef Słodczyk Mining Brass Orchestra “Bytom.” There will also be a quiz with prizes.
The picnic will take place on June 10th, 2026, from 18:00 to 21:00 at the Igry Meadow at 9 Akademicka Street in Gliwice.
