PhD Nexus 2024 – a congress of doctoral students of the Silesian University of Technology
Exchange of scientific experiences and integration in beautiful autumn circumstances of nature - the Joint Doctoral School of the Silesian University of Technology organized the 1st session of PhD Nexus 2024 in Wisła on 25th -26th October. PhD students of our University had the opportunity to share their research and to get to know each other.
The congress was attended by PhD students of the Silesian University of Technology from Poland and abroad conducting scientific research in the field of various disciplines. Everyone presented their innovative research projects and research results. The participants conducted lively networking sessions; they also had the opportunity to get to know the Beskidy Mountains during a joint mountain tour.
“It was a unique opportunity to bring together brilliant minds, more than just a symposium, a chance to build a community of passionate researchers coming from different parts of the globe,” said Dr Muhammad Fawad, one of the organizers of the congress.
“Participation in PhD Nexus provided us with an invaluable platform to share our work, engage with different and build lasting friendships” said Ravi Yadav, a representative of the International Council of PhD students (IPSC). “The efforts of the Doctoral School and the support from the University played an essential role in making this event accessible and enriching for all, especially for our international community. Events like this are what make the Silesian University of Technology a truly global and inclusive academic environment” – added the PhD student.
The event was held as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024 in the Young People City of Science program, which aims to provide young people with space to express their voice and present their commitment to social and scientific activities.
