Partnership talks between the authorities of the Silesian University of Technology and the City of Rybnik
On the 19th of January, 2022, at the Rybnik City Hall, a meeting was held on the development of co-operation between the City of Rybnik and the Silesian University of Technology. Joint initiatives related to the introduction of hydrogen technologies and steps taken to organise the Fraunhofer Design Centre at the Silesian University of Technology in Rybnik were discussed.
Implementation of the project will strengthen the scientific potential of the Western Sub-region of the Silesian Voivodeship and results from the conviction that it is necessary to cooperate in the spirit of partnership in the field of industrial transformation of the region towards a green economy. The meeting also discussed the extension of cooperation between the Silesian University of Technology and municipal companies of Rybnik, including the Water and Sewage Company in the field of RES (Renewable Energy Sources) use, as well as the municipal transport company, after equipping it with hydrogen buses. There were also talks on launching ”Engineering of urbanized areas” postgraduate studies in Rybnik.
The Silesian University of Technology was represented by the Vice-Rector for Collaboration with Civic and Economic Environment Prof. Janusz Kotowicz, PhD, Director of the Continuing Education Centre Zygmunt Łukaszczyk, PhD, while the City of Rybnik was represented by the Mayor Piotr Kuczera.
