Opportunity to develop cooperation with Central Asian countries
The Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Marek Pawełczyk and Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Sebastian Werle are taking part in the third Forum of Rectors of Poland and Uzbekistan in Samarkand.
The Forum is one of the most important events connecting Europe and Central Asia. The event is held with the participation of ministers, rectors and representatives of dozens of universities from both countries and representatives of scientific communities from all over the region, aimed at developing partnerships, initiating joint research projects, as well as strengthening the internationalization of higher education in the context of deepening cooperation between the European Union and Central Asia.
The event is organized on the Polish side by the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland and the “Perspektywy” Education Foundation, and on the Uzbek side – the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation. The event is attended by delegations at the highest level, including ministers responsible for higher education and health and rectors of leading universities from both countries.
As the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland informs on its website, the key objective of the Forum is to build lasting relations between the academic communities of both countries and to develop cooperation in areas such as social sciences, technology, medicine, and digital economy. During the Forum, cooperation agreements related to conducting joint Polish-Uzbek educational and research projects are also signed.
