Open Day of the Silesian University of Technology on the campus in Katowice
Open Days at the Silesian University of Technology are underway. The campus in Katowice was another place that invited secondary school pupils. Here, too, the university walls were visited by hundreds of young people who are thinking about studying at our university.
There were many attractions for visiting pupils, they could not only learn about the university's offer, but also listen to interesting lectures and visit lecture rooms and laboratories. There were simulators, workshops and even a wind tunnel waiting for those interested.
– We show the faculty and its laboratories to pupils, because a university is a completely different place than a school. We also want to present our potential not only in research and teaching, but also in its social aspect - said dr Eng. Sandra Grabowska from the Faculty of Materials Engineering.
Also the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering presented its laboratories. – Today we are presenting 12 of our laboratories related to motor, railway and aviation vehicles, mainly simulators. In this way, we want to show young people that what we do is not only current but also very interesting - added dr Eng. Adam Mańka from the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering.
The next Open Day will be held on November 22 on the campus in Zabrze, and on November 29 in Rybnik. More info on the website: https://www.polsl.pl/ps_aktualnosci/dni-otwarte-politechniki-slaskiej/ .
