The Museum of Deposit Geology, and the Student Science Club of Geologists "Silesian” invite you to a night full of unusual minerals, darkness, and stories from below the surface on Saturday, May the 17th, from 18.00-22.00! The organizers have prepared interesting attractions!
Fluorescent Minerals
In a special corner of the museum - behind a mysterious curtain and darkness - there is a dark room in which ultraviolet light reveals what usually remains invisible...
Baia Mare – the Great Mine
An exhibition of minerals from Romanian mines, full of legends, forgotten shafts, and mining stories. It is the result of a common passion and expedition of the students’ Science Club “Silesian” and Patryk Kosałka to the heart of the Romanian Carpathians.
Special guest: Patryk Kosałka
The core of the exhibition are impressive specimens from the private collection of Patryk – a geologist and guide of our expedition, who with extraordinary knowledge of the area will lead us through the underground worlds of Baia Mare. Among the presented minerals there will also be exhibits brought from this unique geological adventure.
Geologist, traveller, and explorer of unusual specimens. He travels the world in search of minerals – from Siewierz to Namibia. He knows the Romanian underground like his own pocket and tells stories full of passion, humour, and geological knowledge.
