New version of the Legal Monitor of the Silesian University of Technology

From October 1, 2023 - in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 151/2023 of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology of July 31, 2023, regarding the official journal "Monitor Prawny Politechniki Śląskiej" (Legal Monitor of the Silesian University of Technology of 2023, item 945) - university publication internal legal acts will gain a new look and address: lex.polsl.pl.

The Legal Monitor of the Silesian University of Technology is, in accordance with § 4 of the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology, the official journal which announces, among others: resolutions of the Senate, orders of the Rector, resolutions and orders of other University bodies and resolutions of the University Electoral Commission.

The current version of the Monitor (available at: prawo.polsl.pl) was created in 2017 on the initiative of the Rector, prof. dr hab. Eng. Arkadiusz Mężyk as a tool aimed at systematizing both newly announced acts and those that are in the University's electronic repository - the database contains all acts issued after September 1, 1996. Since the launch of the current version of the publisher in September 2017, the legal environment has changed, the so-called Act 2.0 introduced significant changes in the functioning of universities, which required the introduction of not only a new structure at the University of Technology, but also the issuance of amended acts, such as the statute, organizational regulations, etc. This demanding time for the entire Community showed how important a role a transparent organization plays in managing the organization and changes. and efficient communication, of which prawo.polsl.pl was a special example. The monitor turned out to be an indispensable element in everyday work at the University, over time gaining the recognition of both employees and students.

To meet the suggestions and proposals submitted over the past five years, again on the initiative of the Rector, prof. dr hab. Eng. Arkadiusz Mężyk, the Monitor will gain a new look, address and functionalities. The new version uses proven software known not only to other universities, but also to public finance sector institutions, called LEX Document Database of Wolters Kluwer Polska Publishing House. Similar products of the Publisher have been available and known to the employees of the University of Technology for years - by logging in using the IP address from the University's network computers, you can use the LEX database with generally applicable acts (acts, regulations, etc.).

The new Legal Monitor of the Silesian University of Technology offers, among others: advanced search, clear marking of acts as valid or archival, information on the validity period of the document (if it results from its content) and many other useful functions.

Today we invite all members of the Community to visit the website ( link ) and familiarize themselves with its possibilities.

The Office of Legislation and Organization (RR11) is responsible for operating the Monitor, and questions and comments regarding its operation can be submitted to the e-mail address monitor.prawny@polsl.pl.
