“Nature knows better" - opening of Krzysztof Rostański's exhibition
"Nature knows better" is the title of the painting exhibition authored by dr hab. engineer arch. Krzysztof Rostański, prof. of Silesian University of Technology On January 17th in Galeria X at the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology at 10, Strzody Street in Gliwice the exhibition was opened.
Galeria X was inaugurated in 2022. This is a joint work of the Association of Polish Artists and the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology. Exhibition of prof. Krzysztof Rostański is the first one in 2024. His works can be seen in the hall and the Column Hall. The author admits that this exhibition is an important event in his life.
- This is my safety valve, because without painting life would be unbearable, it gives me great pleasure - says Krzysztof Rostański, professor. of Silesian University of Technology - I believe that there is no point in creating art if it is not shown. It's easy to put it in the closet, but that's not the point. I am happy with this exhibition. I usually painted with pastels because it's faster. Now, however, I wanted to show paintings painted with acrylics. Colour is something that fascinates me. I am constantly looking for colour combinations and shades.
Many guests attended the opening and looked at the unusual paintings with interest.
- I really like Professor Rostański's exhibition - says Agnieszka Stawinoga, a participant of the event. - I am also an artist, self-taught. Seeing how another artist sees the world is something very interesting. The perception of plants, their colours, and the combination of colours as at this exhibition fascinates me greatly.
The "Nature Knows Better" exhibition will be available until February 15.
- I named it that way because when I observe paintings of contemporary art, they very often have repeated ideas and schematic solutions, because they are painted from imagination, which is, however, limited - explains the author. - However, the same cannot be said about nature, which is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. That's why each of the paintings hanging on the wall is either painted from photos I took myself or simply outdoors - that's when they are simply the most vivid and best.
