National Barbórka Day - “Gwarków” Meeting 2022
On December 2nd, 2022, the National Barbórka Day - “Gwarków” Meeting 2022 will take place at the Silesian University of Technology. The program of the celebrations includes: a solemn academy, a procession and a brass band concert.
The ceremony will be preceded by a scientific conference "Poland's energy security today - opportunities and threats", which will be held on December 1st at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation.
The National Barbórka Day - “Gwarków” Meeting 2022 will start on December 2nd at 9.00 am with a holy mass in the Michael the Archangel Church at Łużycka Street in Gliwice. Then the participants in the procession will go towards the building of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation, where they will lay flowers at the monument of St. Barbara. The program of the celebrations also includes a meeting of the University authorities and the faculty with industry, a concert of the mining orchestra of Sośnica Coal Mine, and a solemn St. Barbara's Day Academy with the participation of the Senate of the Silesian University of Technology. And also meetings in the Arena Hall in Gliwice.
The day before, on December 1st, at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation, a scientific conference "Poland's energy security today - opportunities and threats" will be held. The meeting will be attended by the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk, the Dean of the faculty prof. Franciszek Plewa, as well as representatives of the government: the Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Moscow and the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of State Assets, Government Plenipotentiary for Energy and Mining Transformation Piotr Pyzik.
