A monograph by Prof. Jerzy Respondek: “Fast Matrix Multiplication with Applications” has been published. The aim of this publication is to show the methods of constructing algorithms of rapid matrix multiplication and their applications in a way that is understandable and accessible not only to mathematicians.
The topic of the so-called Fast Matrix Multiplication was started in 1968 and developed very much in the 80s. However, all methods are presented in a very compact and specialized form, understandable only to a small group of specialists.
- This subject – until the publication of this book – was known only by name in the circles of mathematicians and computer scientists and was not used at all. This book, to my knowledge, is the first cross-sectional study of the issue, which presents it in a way that is understandable not only for mathematicians – says Professor Jerzy Respondek.
Potential recipients of the monograph are computer scientists, physicists, engineers, specialists in econometrics, production organization and AI (artificial intelligence) specialists.
