Modern competences for everyone – recruitment for free micro-workshops at the Silesian University of Technology has started

Students, employees of the Silesian University of Technology and people from outside the academic community can take part in free micro-workshops improving professional qualifications. The initiative is implemented as part of the project of the Silesian Voivodeship, financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Micro-workshops are a short and intensive form of education that allows to quickly acquire practical skills and current knowledge in selected areas. The program of classes, conducted by experts, focuses on modern technologies, competences of the future and personal and professional development. Thanks to this formula, participants can increase their attractiveness in the labour market in an accessible way. Each person completing the training will receive a certificate in the form of micro certificate issued by the Silesian University of Technology.

Full thematic offer

The program covers a wide range of fields, responding to the challenges of modern economy. Interested parties can register for the following micro-workshops:

  • Digitalization of civil engineering processes;
  • Python and SQL in practice – basics of database programming;
  • Designing digital circuits in Verilog;
  • Digital CAD/CAM workflow (in dental prosthetics) including 5-axis milling;
  • Using AI models to reduce energy consumption of homes and cars and reduce emissions CO2;
  • Safety of industrial systems supported by artificial intelligence – current requirements and recommendations related to legal acts (NIS2, CRA, AI Act);
  • Immersive logistics and production: Modelling, optimization, and visualization of processes;
  • Innovation management and green technologies in research and development projects;
  • Energy efficiency;
  • Human Skills for Future Teams (development of competencies in communication, teamwork, situational leadership, and creative problem solving);
  • Urban Resilience in the face of socio-climate challenges;
  • Introduction to high vacuum technology and vacuum testing methods;
  • Theory and practice of risk assessment in transport;
  • Circular Design and Incremental Technologies: From CAD Modelling.

The regulations allow one person to participate in any number of workshops, which allows for a comprehensive extension of the professional profile.

Information about the recruitment

Recruitment is carried out exclusively by electronic means via the application form available on the website Silesian University of Technology | micro workshops

The recruitment began on the 13th of May 2026 and will be conducted until a limited pool of places is exhausted.

The initiative is open to both members of the university community of the Silesian University of Technology, as well as to those outside the university who want to develop competences related to digital transformation and green economy.
