Metrorower on the campuses of the Silesian University of Technology
The Metrorower (Metrobike) has landed. The largest city bike rental system in Poland and the third in Europe is now available. Characteristic yellow bicycles can also be rented at the campuses of the Silesian University of Technology.
Metrorower is a work of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis and Nextbike company. On the streets of Silesian and Zagłębie towns there appeared 1860 bicycles and 267 stations. Bicycle stations are also located on the campuses of Silesian University of Technology. In Gliwice at the building of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, in Katowice at the Faculties: Transport and Aviation Engineering and Materials Engineering, while in Zabrze near the building of the Faculty of Organization and Management.
The Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis is the largest metropolis in this part of Europe. We are a kind of city, which allows cities and municipalities to retain their identity on the one hand, and on the other hand, to build synergy effects where borders seem unnecessary. These assumptions are perfectly implemented by Metrorower – says Kazimierz Karolczak – Chairman of the Management Board of GZM.
IV generation bikes equipped with a GPS transmitter are waiting for the users of the Metrorower. This means that there will be no need to attach them to racks, and the system will allow free movement between municipalities and leaving the bike in another place.
